A place on a course is an important start, but a Student visa application has separate immigration requirements. SJS can help you check the course sponsorship, financial evidence and application timing. Tell us about your offer, any previous UK study and the date your course begins.
The course must be offered by a licensed student sponsor and meet the route requirements. A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, usually called a CAS, is central to the application. Details should be checked against your passport, course and previous study history.
Prepare funds and personal documents
The amount and form of financial evidence depend on the circumstances. We can identify which documents are required and any holding-period rules that apply. English language evidence, parental consent for younger applicants and additional course approvals may also need consideration.
Understand study and family conditions
Permission to work and to bring dependants is restricted and depends on the course and other circumstances. A Student visa should not be treated as permission for unrestricted work. Any plans after graduation need a separate assessment under the rules then in force.

Fees and timescales
01 / Fees
Fees and costs
We will quote for the application work required. The visa fee, healthcare surcharge, any tests or translations and course costs are separate. Each eligible dependant may have additional application costs.
02 / Timescales
Timing and preparation
The earliest application date differs for applications made inside and outside the UK. Leave time for the CAS, financial evidence and identity process. A course start date does not guarantee a decision before teaching begins.
Read our published Price Guide, then contact us to confirm the work you need and the costs involved.
Yes. Student replaced the former Tier 4 General route. Younger pupils may need the separate Child Student route, depending on age and the school.
Can I bring my partner and children?
Only certain students can bring dependants under the current rules. The course and sponsorship circumstances need checking before the family makes travel or accommodation plans.
Can I work full time on a Student visa?
Not generally throughout the course. Work rights depend on the course and visa conditions, including term time restrictions. Check the exact permission before accepting work.
Will I automatically get a work visa after graduating?
No. Any Graduate or work route has separate requirements and requires the appropriate application. Future plans should be reviewed against the rules and dates relevant to that application.
